The shelter established at the Worth Heights Community Center, 3551 New York Ave., closed today at noon.
The City of Fort Worth, in cooperation with Tarrant County and the Chisholm Trail Chapter of the American Red Cross, established the shelter Friday evening for Tarrant County residents who had been left without power or heat as a result of the record snowfall in the Metroplex.
In the time it was available, the shelter provided meals for a few residents, but did not have anyone stay overnight. If the need arises, Parks and Community Services Department is ready to re-open the operation.
