Furlough/Holiday Closings and Service Interruptions

City of Fort Worth’s fiscal year 2010 budget cuts require a reduction in operating hours and services for most City departments.For more information about the City’s 2010 budget and furlough days visit FortWorthGov.org.

Closings

  • Thursday, Sept. 2: only Central, Northside, BOLD and COOL will be open. All other libraries will be closed.
  • Friday, Sept. 3: all Fort Worth libraries will be closed.
  • Saturday, Sept. 4: all Fort Worth libraries will be open.
  • Sunday, Sept. 5, and Monday, Sept. 6: all Fort Worth libraries will be closed.

Service Interruptions

  • Thursday, Sept. 2, through Monday, Sept. 6: Book drops will be closed at all Fort Worth Libraries. No materials will be due on these dates.  Most library materials normally due Sept. 2, 3, or 6 will be due Sept. 10 or 11, depending upon the type of material and the schedule of the library. Please check the date-due slip for confirmation.
  • Thursday, Sept. 2, through Sunday, Sept. 5:  Fort Worth patrons cannot place requests. Fort Worth items cannot be requested.  

Normal operating hours will resume at all Fort Worth libraries on Tuesday, Sept. 7.
