Veterans Memorial Air Park at Meacham Airport opens July 18

The facility is at 3300 Ross Ave. on the south end of Meacham Airport, west of Main Street off Long Avenue. It will be open to visitors Mondays and Wednesdays 9 a.m. to noon; Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sundays 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

EPA holding public meeting on hydraulic fracturing research study

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is hosting a public information meeting in Fort Worth on its proposed study of the relationship between hydraulic fracturing and its potential impacts on drinking water. The public meeting is July 8 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Fort Worth. Anyone wishing to attend should register by 6 p.m. on July 5.

City offices closing for furlough April 2; some services affected on other days

More than 58,000 potholes repaired during ‘blitz’

In a two-week stretch, city crews filled 58,794 potholes — almost half the amount crews fixed during the entire previous year.
Following February’s record snowstorm, the city’s Transportation and Public Works Department launched a citywide pothole blitz to repair as many roadways as possible.
